Aster cordifolius – Wood’s Blue Aster

Blue Wood Aster is a herbaceous perennial that may grow 3 feet tall. The leaves are narrow, alternate leaves with a toothed margin. A pale blue to violet showy flower will bloom in large panicles during the Summer and Fall. This plant attracts pollinators of all kinds.

The famous Wood’s Blue Aster is a dwarf aster that grows just up from 8 to 12 inches tall. Bright daisy-like flowers with neat short growth that brings a stunning floral display during the Fall. This plant thrives in full sun with a wet soil. This plant is native to rich, dry to moist woodlands, forest margins, fields, dry meadows, bluff bases and stream banks.
