Product Description

Solidago caesia, commonly known as Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod or Wreath Goldenrod, is a beautiful native perennial wildflower prized for its arching sprays of bright golden-yellow flowers and distinctive blue-green stems. Blooming from late summer through fall, its clusters of golden blooms emerge along the upper leaf axils, creating a graceful display that adds vibrant seasonal color to woodland and native landscapes. Its nectar-rich flowers provide an important late-season food source for butterflies, native bees, and other beneficial pollinators.

This low-maintenance native perennial thrives in partial shade to full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soils, though it adapts well to average garden conditions. Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod is deer resistant, drought tolerant once established, and an excellent choice for woodland gardens, shade gardens, native plant landscapes, and pollinator gardens. Unlike many goldenrods, this species has a refined, clump-forming habit that blends beautifully into naturalistic plantings.

Ideal for forest edges, meadow gardens, landscape borders, rain gardens, and wildlife-friendly landscapes, Solidago caesia pairs beautifully with asters, ferns, sedges, ornamental grasses, and other native perennials. Whether planted beneath trees, along woodland paths, or incorporated into a pollinator planting, Blue-Stemmed Goldenrod delivers late-season color, ecological value, and dependable performance in residential and commercial landscapes.
